Five days of festivities in Piazza Castello, Osasio, in the heart of the Turin plains
Every year, between late May and early June, the small town of Osasio in the Province of Turin experiences its most vibrant week with the Santissima Trinità Patronal Feast. It is the quintessential village festival: five days where the community gathers in the main square to share long tables, music, and tradition in the heart of the Piedmontese plains south of the regional capital.
Everything revolves around Piazza Castello, the town's central space facing the parish church and the town hall. A large covered marquee is set up here to host dinners and musical evenings, ensuring the program continues even in case of bad weather. For five consecutive nights, the square comes alive with the aromas of the kitchen and the sounds of DJs and orchestras, in a convivial atmosphere that attracts residents and visitors from neighboring towns.
Like every Italian patronal feast, the Osasio event intertwines the religious dimension with popular tradition. The focus is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, the town's patron saint, around which moments of reflection and community revolve. Alongside the celebrations, the Qiqajon Association promotes solidarity initiatives at the parish hall, a sign of a festival that remains deeply rooted in the town's social fabric.
The soul of the event is the Comitato Manifestazioni Osasio, which works year-round in collaboration with the Municipality to create a rich and well-curated program. The themed dinners, from the "Reverse Dinner" to the grand final barbecue, have become a hallmark of the festival: each evening offers a different menu and dedicated musical accompaniment. It is an authentic example of how, even in the smallest towns of Piedmont, the patronal feast remains an appointment capable of uniting the entire population.
Piazza Castello, in the center of Osasio (TO), in front of the parish church and the town hall. Dinners and evening events take place under a covered marquee.
Osasio is located in the plains south of Turin, towards Carmagnola. It is accessible by car from the main local roads; during the festival, there is a variation to the public transport terminus (Extra.To).
Dinners require reservations, which can be made at the Bar Sisters Cafè or through the Committee. Contacts: [email protected], tel. +39 339 2614560 (active during meal times).
