The patronal feast of Dro, blending taste, music, and tradition in the Garda Trentino region
The Sant'Antonio Festival is the most anticipated summer event in Dro, a town in the Sarca Valley in the province of Trento, within the Garda Trentino region. Dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, the event is organized by the Pro Loco Sant'Antonio Dro and transforms the parish oratory square for over a week into a vibrant hub of social life, music, and local traditions.
With a history spanning well over a hundred editions, the Sant'Antonio Festival is much more than a patronal feast: it is a collective ritual that strengthens the town's identity and involves volunteers of all generations. The Pro Loco, led by president Sebastiano Matteotti, curates a varied program every year designed for families, young people, and food lovers, with the active participation of local associations.
The gastronomic heart of the festival is the Trentino flavors tent, where the festival's signature dish is served every year: plum stew, prepared with the renowned Susina di Dro DOP, a product of excellence from the Sarca Valley. It is accompanied by polenta, local farmer's cheese, and plum jam, creating a menu that celebrates the authentic flavors of Trentino-Alto Adige.
The program features a variety of moments throughout the festival:
The convivial atmosphere is complemented by religious moments, such as the Holy Mass in honor of Saint Anthony celebrated in the 18th-century church, and cultural offerings, like the historical-cultural walk dedicated to the bond between Dro, the mountaineer Felice Benuzzi, and Giuseppe Garibaldi, organized in collaboration with the Rete museale del Ledro and the Circolo Ca' del Nemoler. The tombola and the Sant'Antonio lottery round out a program that unites the entire community of Dro.
The 2026 Sant'Antonio Festival was held in Dro, in the Garda Trentino region, from June 6 to 14, confirming the rich program curated by the Pro Loco Sant'Antonio Dro. The festivities kicked off with a concert by the Banda Sociale Dro-Ceniga and majorettes, conducted by maestro Marco Isacchini, in the parish oratory square.
In the following days, the program featured an aperitif with a pasta party and a DJ set by Radio Retebusa, dance evenings with the Enzo Allegri and Angelo Caravaggio orchestras, performances by the Academy of Dance and Ballroom, and children's events with the Rodrigo Show. The absolute star was the food tent with plum stew made with Susina di Dro DOP, served with polenta and local farmer's cheese. There was also a tombola and the Sant'Antonio lottery, Holy Mass in the 18th-century church, and the historical-cultural walk about Dro, Felice Benuzzi, and Garibaldi.
Dro is located in the Sarca Valley, in the province of Trento, along the road connecting Trento to Lake Garda. By car, it can be reached from the A22 Brenner motorway (exit Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda Nord) by continuing towards Arco and Dro. The nearest train station is Rovereto, which is connected to Dro by local bus lines.
The main events are held in the parish oratory square, on Via Cesare Battisti, in the center of Dro. The Holy Mass is celebrated in the Church of Sant'Antonio.
Admission to the festival is free. The food tent offers typical dishes for purchase, featuring the signature plum stew made with Susina di Dro DOP. For updated dates and times, we recommend checking the channels of the Pro Loco Sant'Antonio Dro.
