Christmas in Arco, the heart of the Alto Garda Trentino

The Arco Christmas Markets are among the most appreciated holiday events in Trentino-Alto Adige. Every year, from mid-November until Epiphany, the historic center of the Municipality of Arco, in the province of Trento, turns into a Christmas village tucked away among medieval streets, porticoes, and the scenic Piazza III Novembre, dominated by the imposing Castle that watches over the town in the Alto Garda region.

Around forty wooden stalls

The heart of the event consists of about forty wooden stalls arranged along the streets of the center and around the church. The stalls offer handmade gift ideas, tree decorations, wool items such as Tyrolean-inspired hats, gloves, and slippers, artistic creations, agricultural products, and local gastronomic specialties. There is no shortage of the scent of mulled wine and traditional sweets to accompany your stroll among the lights.

A rich program for the whole family

The Arco Markets are not just about shopping: the program includes street performances and fire artists, classical music concerts, nativity scenes, a petting zoo, donkey rides, and the Christmas train. The lights and scenic projections on the facades of historic buildings create an immersive atmosphere, while the little ones can enjoy creative workshops and the Tana dell'Orso Pom, the interactive area dedicated to families set up in the courtyard of Palazzo dei Panni.

Weekend and holiday openings

The market is open on weekends from mid-November until Christmas, with hours from 10 am to 7 pm on opening days and extended hours until 8 pm on Saturdays. From Christmas Eve until Epiphany, the market is open daily, with reduced hours on holidays. Admission is free.

In Arco, between a mild climate and the Garda landscape

Thanks to the particularly mild climate of the Alto Garda, the Arco Markets offer a Christmas experience different from that of the colder alpine valleys: a pleasant walk through the historic center, gardens, and glimpses of Lake Garda just a few kilometers away. The event is organized by AssoCentro Arco and represents one of the flagship events of the winter season in Garda Trentino.
