Five days of patronal festivities in Piazza Gerbidi, Rivalta di Torino
The San Vittore Patronal Festival is the most anticipated event of the year in Rivalta di Torino, a town in the greater Turin area of Piedmont. For five days, between early and mid-May, the heart of the town — Piazza Gerbidi — transforms into a vibrant festival space, featuring food stalls, concerts, dance nights, and religious rites in honor of the patron saint. The event is organized by the Famiglia Rivaltese, the association that has been preserving and renewing this tradition for years.
The festival is rooted in the devotion to Saints Vittore and Corona, to whom the historic rural chapel of Rivalta, documented as far back as 1047, is dedicated. The patronal feast traditionally falls around the second Monday of May and maintains its dual nature: on one hand, the religious dimension, with the procession from the parish church to the San Vittore chapel and the mass in honor of Santa Corona; on the other, the popular and convivial side, filled with food, music, and social gatherings.
The program alternates between flavors and entertainment. The food stall run by the Famiglia Rivaltese offers traditional specialties: Piedmontese grilled meats and fried dishes served in the square every evening. Accompanying the dinners are musical evenings featuring live concerts, the Street Dance Party, and the unmissable Family Spritz Party that kicks off the festivities. Over the years, the stage has hosted various local bands and artists, from the Shary Band to Santi & Friends, as well as traditional Piedmontese folk groups.
Beyond the music and fine dining, the San Vittore Festival maintains a strong commitment to charity: one of the most heartfelt moments is the charity lunch dedicated to guests of local care facilities. There is no shortage of cultural reflection hosted at the chapel, proving that this festival is simultaneously popular, spiritual, and socially conscious. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the identity of Rivalta di Torino and the warm hospitality of its people.
The 2026 edition of the San Vittore Patronal Festival brought Rivalta di Torino to life from May 7 to 11, with the usual program of music, food, and tradition in Piazza Gerbidi.
The heart of the festival is Piazza Gerbidi, in the center of Rivalta di Torino (Province of Turin). Religious rites take place between the parish church of SS. Pietro e Andrea and the San Vittore chapel.
By car: Rivalta di Torino can be reached via the Turin ring road (Rivalta/Orbassano exit), about 15 km from the city center. By public transport: GTT bus connections from Turin and the surrounding western municipalities.
The festival is traditionally held in May, around the second Monday of the month, and lasts for five days.
Access to events in the square is free; food stalls operate on a pay-per-item basis according to the Famiglia Rivaltese price list.
