Showcasing the white and black truffles of the Terre del Giarolo in the heart of the Tortona area
The San Sebastiano Curone National Truffle Fair is one of the longest-running and most beloved truffle events in Piedmont. Reaching its 43rd edition in 2026, it takes place in the charming historic center of San Sebastiano Curone, a small village in the Province of Alessandria nestled in the valleys of the Tortona area, known as the Terre del Giarolo. For over forty years, the fair has promoted the truffle-growing heritage of this territory, which produces white and black truffles that rival those of the region's most famous areas.
The heart of the event is the truffle market, held in the historic Sala SMS, where local trifolao display and sell their seasonal harvest. Alongside the prized white truffle and the aromatic black truffle, you will find numerous local delicacies: the Salame Nobile del Giarolo, the rare Montébore cheese, wines from the Colli Tortonesi such as Timorasso and Barbera, as well as cheeses, cured meats, honey, jams, fresh pasta, and traditional baked goods.
The fair's program, spread over two Sundays in November, features several highlights:
The fair is enriched by numerous side events designed to tell the story and beauty of the area: exhibitions, craft displays, entertainment, and visits to the characteristic historic center of San Sebastiano Curone, with its porticoes and squares. The event, organized by the Municipality of San Sebastiano Curone, is an ideal opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Piedmont, blending high-quality food and wine, tradition, and Apennine landscapes.
San Sebastiano Curone can be reached by car from the A7 motorway (exit Tortona or Vignole-Serravalle) by following signs for Val Curone; by train, the reference station is Tortona, on the Genoa-Milan line, with bus connections to Val Curone.
The 2026 edition will be held on Sunday, November 15th and Sunday, November 22nd. Admission to the fair is free; some gastronomic initiatives and tastings may have a cost.
