The Grape and Local Products Festival is the autumn festival of Borgo Priolo, a municipality in the Province of Pavia in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese, the great wine-growing region of Lombardy. It is held on a Sunday in late September, celebrating the end of the grape harvest with wine, flavors, and tradition.
Wine, flavors, and rural tradition
The program revolves around food and wine: wine tastings with personalized glasses and pouches to sample local labels, the famous brasadè of Staghiglione, honey, fresh fruit, and other typical products. For the little ones, there's grape stomping, a fun and educational way to discover winemaking traditions, while the Gatteo Club displays vintage tractors, recalling the area's agricultural history.
Culture, music, and hot air balloon
The day is enriched by theatrical guided tours to discover the history and legends of the village, music from the Arkana Pipe Band with drums, bagpipes, and bombardes, and the non-competitive race "Borgo di Corsa". But the most evocative experience is the hot air balloon ride, offering a view of the magnificent autumn landscapes of the Oltrepò Pavese hills from above.
