The Valtidone Wine Fest is the major traveling food and wine exhibition that crosses the villages of Val Tidone, in the province of Piacenza, every September, dedicating each weekend to a different Municipality. The Alta Val Tidone stage takes place in the charming hamlet of Trevozzo, around Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII, and is considered one of the most authentic of the entire event: here wine meets the village dimension, among alleys, courtyards, and the warm welcome of the local community.
The Wines of Colli Piacentini Take Center Stage
The heart of the day are the tasting stands, where wineries from the area offer the great native wines of the Colli Piacentini: Malvasia di Candia aromatica, Ortrugo, Gutturnio, and refined sweet wines that tell the story of the valley's winemaking vocation. Alongside the wine, there is also extra virgin olive oil from Val Tidone, a niche product from these hills, and a selection of typical De.Co. branded products from the Municipality.
The Buslàn Festival and Food Stands
The Trevozzo stage intertwines with the traditional Buslàn Festival, a donut-shaped cake that is a symbol of Piacenza pastry making, prepared by families and volunteers from the village according to the historic recipe.
