The patronal feast of the San Paolo hamlet in San Michele Mondovì
In the San Paolo hamlet of San Michele Mondovì, in the province of Cuneo (Piedmont), the last weekend of June is dedicated to San Pé, the dialect name for the Saints Peter and Paul feast. It is one of those events that have marked the life of the hamlet for generations: a heartfelt and well-attended patronal feast where residents gather to honor their patron saints and enjoy a few days of shared joy.
The festival is a staple of the rich calendar of fairs and patronal feasts in the Monregalese, the area surrounding Mondovì where every town and hamlet jealously preserves its own traditions. In San Michele Mondovì, San Pé is part of the municipal events calendar, created through the collaboration between the Municipality, local associations, and the many volunteers who make the event possible.
As is traditional for a patronal feast, San Pé intertwines religious moments, linked to the liturgical feast of Saints Peter and Paul on June 29th, with the social life of the hamlet. The evenings in the San Paolo hamlet are an opportunity to gather around the table, share Piedmontese cuisine, and extend the festivities late into the night in the familiar atmosphere typical of village feasts in the Cuneo valleys.
The festival is organized by the Associazione San Paolo, which is active in promoting tourism and organizing activities in the hamlet. Thanks to their commitment and that of the volunteers, San Pé continues to be a landmark for the hamlet's residents and for those who love discovering the authentic village festivals of southern Piedmont during the summer.
San Pé ideally kicks off the town's summer season, which continues with other traditional events such as the Santa Giustina feast and numerous initiatives on the municipal calendar. For those visiting the Monregalese, it is the perfect opportunity to combine the discovery of an authentic village, nestled in the hills between the Langhe and the Alps, with the genuine atmosphere of a Piedmontese patronal feast.
The 2026 edition of the San Pé Festival is scheduled for Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27, 2026, in the San Paolo hamlet of San Michele Mondovì, in the province of Cuneo. The patronal feast of Saints Peter and Paul is confirmed in the Municipality's 2026 events calendar and is organized by the Associazione San Paolo.
As every year, two days of tradition and conviviality will enliven the hamlet. The detailed program, including times and activities, will be announced by the organizers closer to the event.
