About San Giacomo Festival

In Prezzo, a small village in the municipality of Pieve di Bono-Prezzo within the Trentino Giudicarie valleys, the San Giacomo Festival celebrates the patron saint every summer with a weekend of festivities organized by the local Pro Loco. Featuring a 5-a-side football tournament, grilled meat and chicken dinners, Holy Mass with a procession, a briscola card tournament, children's entertainment, and dancing in the square, it is a classic village festival that brings the community together and welcomes visitors with genuine mountain hospitality.

A patronal feast in the heart of the Giudicarie

The San Giacomo Festival is the patronal feast of the village of Prezzo, part of the municipality of Pieve di Bono-Prezzo in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Set in the Giudicarie, the valley connecting Lake Idro to Val Rendena, the festival is dedicated to Saint James the Apostle, whose feast day is celebrated on July 25th. As in many mountain communities, the patron saint's day is an opportunity to bring the entire village and its guests together for a weekend of sharing, popular traditions, and conviviality.

Organizers

The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Prezzo, the association that enlivens the small village and proposes a program of events every year to celebrate the patron saint. The heart of the festival is the village square, which transforms for two days into a gathering place with food stalls, a bar, and music.

What to expect

The San Giacomo Festival is a true village feast, with a rhythm that alternates between sporting, religious, and social moments. Highlights include:

  • the 5-a-side football tournament, a sporting event that reached its fourteenth edition in 2025;
  • community dinners with mixed grills, chips, and chicken, served at the stalls set up in the square;
  • Holy Mass in honor of the patron saint, followed by the traditional procession;
  • the briscola tournament and entertainment for children;
  • dancing evenings with live music and DJ sets that keep the square lively until late at night.

A slice of authentic Trentino

Far from the major tourist events, the San Giacomo Festival showcases a genuine, community-focused side of Trentino, made up of volunteers, simple recipes, and village bonds. For those visiting the Giudicarie in summer, it is the ideal opportunity to experience the true atmosphere of a small alpine community and to enjoy local cuisine in a welcoming and informal setting.
