The festival that heralds spring in the Chisone Valley
Every May, the small town of San Germano Chisone, in the province of Turin, welcomes the new season with its Spring Fair. For an entire Sunday, Parco Villa Widemann and the town's main streets are filled with colors, scents, and activities designed for all ages. It is one of those Piedmontese village festivals that thrives on conviviality and a deep connection to the land, attracting visitors from across the Chisone Valley and the Pinerolo area.
Flowers, stalls, and artisans
The commercial heart of the day is the open-air market: over twenty-five flower exhibitors, nurserymen, and hobbyists enliven the town center with plants, spring decorations, crafts, and handmade creations. The stalls are complemented by local gastronomic specialties, creating a festive atmosphere that fills the town from the morning onwards.
A space dedicated to wellness
In recent years, the Fair has chosen to focus on wellness, transforming Parco Widemann into an oasis of relaxation. Among the most popular activities are yoga classes, sound bath sessions, and workshops dedicated to medicinal plants. It is an original way to experience spring, immersed in the greenery of one of the area's historic villas.
Walking the Forts
Another highlight of the day is the 'Walking the Forts' trail, a route of approximately four kilometers on both asphalt and dirt paths, with some uphill sections, allowing visitors to discover the surroundings of San Germano Chisone at a leisurely pace. It is a perfect opportunity to combine exercise, nature, and local history.
Exhibitions and culture
The Fair does not neglect culture: the Town Hall and the BACi Library host exhibitions that change theme every year, ranging from historical memory to literary figures, enriching the day with a touch of insight.
A community event
The event is organized by the Municipality of San Germano Chisone together with the Pro Loco, the Villa Widemann Municipal Park Association, and the AIB volunteers, with the collaboration of local merchants and associations. It is this network of volunteers that makes the Spring Fair an authentic, free, and deeply rooted event in the life of this Piedmontese village.

La Fiera di Primavera 2026 di San Germano Chisone si è tenuta domenica 10 maggio, articolata tra il Parco Villa Widemann e le vie centrali del paese. La giornata ha intrecciato i temi del benessere, della storia e del cammino, confermando la formula apprezzata dalle ultime edizioni.
Tra le bancarelle dei fiori e degli hobbisti, il programma ha proposto uno spazio benessere nel parco, lezioni di yoga, sessioni di bagno sonoro e una camminata di circa quattro chilometri alla scoperta del territorio. A completare l'offerta, mostre dedicate alla memoria storica e alla cultura ospitate negli spazi comunali.

- Dalle 9:00 — Apertura dello spazio benessere nel Parco Widemann e delle mostre (visitabili fino alle 18:00)
- 10:00 — Partenza della camminata 'In cammino per le strade dei forti' dal gazebo della Pro Loco (percorso di circa 4 km tra asfalto e sterrato, con tratti in salita)
- 11:00 — Lezioni di Yoga al Parco Widemann
- 12:00 e 15:00 — Sessioni di bagno sonoro con Monocorda
- Primo pomeriggio — Karaoke in Piazza XX Settembre
Mostre ed esposizioni
- Esposizione sull'80esimo anniversario del voto delle donne (Sala Consiglio del Municipio)
- Mostra documentaria su 'François Rabelais. Monaco, medico e scrittore' presso la Biblioteca BACi, visitabile anche nei pomeriggi dall'11 al 15 maggio (14:30-18:30) e sabato 16 maggio (8:00-12:00)

The Spring Fair takes place on a Sunday in May, from the morning (exhibitors open at 9:00 AM) until the late afternoon.

How to get there
By car from Turin, take the Pinerolo state road towards Pinerolo, then continue along the Chisone Valley. San Germano Chisone is located just a few kilometers from Villar Perosa and Perosa Argentina.
Admission
Admission to the Fair and workshops is free. The 'Walking the Forts' trail has a fee of 5 euros for adults and is free for children.
