An ancient devotion in the heart of Sicily

In the small municipality of Villalba, in the province of Caltanissetta, the San Calogero Festival represents one of the community's most deeply rooted religious events. The recurrence on the last Sunday of August coincides with the conclusion of the Villalba Summer program, the summer calendar of events promoted by the Municipality. On this occasion, the festivities in honor of San Calogero intertwine with the final musical evening of the season, transforming the town center into a place of gathering and celebration for the entire community. The religious celebration, with mass and the blessing of the bread, is thus accompanied by moments of conviviality and popular entertainment.
