In Pescolanciano, in the province of Isernia, the Sagra della Polenta celebrates one of the most representative dishes of the peasant culture of Alto Molise. The event is held in the town's Villa Comunale and transforms a simple dish into a collective ritual that tells, as the organizers recall, "stories of family, of working in the fields, and of conviviality".
Steaming pots and outdoor tables
The heart of the festival are the steaming pots in which the polenta is prepared, then served at the large outdoor tables according to recipes passed down by families. Accompanying the tasting are live music, folk shows, and exhibitions of local crafts, making the sagra an authentic and participatory experience.

How to get there
Pescolanciano can be reached by car from the SS650 Trignina and from the provincial roads of Alto Molise; the town is also served by the Pescolanciano-Chiauci station. The main reference station is Isernia. The sagra is held at the Villa Comunale.
