The Sagra della Pappardella takes place in Finocchieto, a charming hamlet of Stroncone, in the province of Terni. It is a small feudal-era village nestled in the green Umbrian Apennines, at an altitude of 460 metres above sea level, which comes alive every summer for one of the most cherished gastronomic events in the area.
Handmade pappardella
The absolute star is the fresh pappardella, rigorously handmade by the village housewives according to tradition. It is served in many delicious variations, accompanied by other local culinary specialities, from grilled meats to typical Umbrian dishes. The festival is held at the Area Polifunzionale (Multi-purpose Area), a covered facility that ensures the events can take place even in bad weather.
Music and conviviality
Every evening, the festival is accompanied by live music with bands and ensembles, transforming Finocchieto into a meeting point for locals and visitors from neighbouring towns. The festival is an opportunity to discover a little-known corner of Umbria and to taste genuine cuisine, linked to the agricultural traditions of the area.
Sagra della Pappardella — edition 2026
The 2026 edition, the 19th, takes place from 2 to 12 July at the Finocchieto Multi-purpose Area. For eleven days, the feudal village in the Umbrian Apennines celebrates its fresh pappardella, handmade by the housewives and served in many delicious variations alongside other local culinary specialities. Every evening, the festival is accompanied by music from renowned bands.

How to get there
Finocchieto is a hamlet of Stroncone, reachable by car from Terni (about 18 km) following signs for Stroncone and then for Finocchieto. The festival takes place at the village's Multi-purpose Area.
