Sagra dell'Alborella

A festival dedicated to river fish

The Sagra dell'Alborella is one of the most beloved summer events in Candia Lomellina, in the heart of Lomellina in the province of Pavia. For over a decade, at the beginning of July, Piazza Leonardo da Vinci fills with tables, the aroma of fried food, and live music to celebrate the alborella, a small freshwater fish typical of the Lomellina waterways.

The menu: alborelle and more

Alborelle, served fried or in carpione, are the true stars, but the menu is very rich: mixed grill, ribs and grilled pork, and many other specialties of the Pavia tradition. All accompanied by cold beer and musical evenings that liven up the square until late at night. The kitchen opens every evening at 7:30 PM, while on Sundays lunch service is also available.

Music, dancing, and fun

Each evening has its theme: from Latin atmospheres to ballroom orchestras, to musical shows designed to engage all generations. The sagra is a community festival, where gastronomic tradition and socialising blend in a cheerful and family atmosphere.
