The Sagra dell'Assunta is the patronal festival of the Municipality of Frascarolo, in the province of Pavia, in the heart of Lomellina. It is one of the town's oldest celebrations, linked to the feast of the Assumption of Mary, which falls on August 15th. The festival takes place on the third weekend of August and represents the most cherished summer event for the Frascarolo community.

Three evenings of celebration

The event features three evenings of musical entertainment, each preceded by a dinner with dishes from local cuisine. The municipal celebration area in Via Fleming becomes the focal point of the festival, welcoming residents and visitors from neighboring towns in a convivial and cheerful atmosphere. The typical Lomellina cuisine, rich in the flavors of the Po Valley's farming tradition, is one of the main attractions of the event.

The Pro Loco Frascarolese

The festival is organized by the Pro Loco Frascarolese (local cultural association) in collaboration with the Municipality of Frascarolo. The commitment of the association and its volunteers helps keep alive an ancient tradition, which combines the religious dimension of the Assumption festival with the popular and convivial aspects, in the spirit of the patronal festivals of the Po Valley.
