The Sagra del Mirtillo (Blueberry Festival) takes place in Ornica, a small mountain municipality in the upper Val Brembana, in the province of Bergamo. Here, blueberry cultivation has become a true identity: some local farms have made Ornica one of the capitals of Bergamo blueberries, and the festival was created precisely to showcase and celebrate this fruit.

The gastronomic trekking

The heart of the event is the blueberry-themed gastronomic trekking: a walk of a few kilometers through the valley's farms, punctuated by tasting stops where dishes and products featuring blueberries as the common thread are sampled. It's a way to combine the discovery of the mountain landscape with taste, walking from one farm to another.

The dinner in the village

Alongside the walk, there is a themed dinner in the village of Ornica, organized in collaboration with local restaurateurs, also dedicated to blueberries. Both events have limited capacity and require booking.

The festival is organized by the Cooperativa Ornica nel Cuore (Ornica in the Heart Cooperative), an organization that enlivens the village life and promotes its territory. In just a few years, the event has established itself as one of the most characteristic summer appointments in the upper Val Brembana, capable of attracting visitors to a mountain municipality that would otherwise be off the main tourist routes.
