Sixty years of Valsassina flavours
The Sagra delle Sagre of Barzio, in the province of Lecco, is one of the most important gastronomic events in the Lombardy mountains. Founded in 1966, it showcases the typical products of Valsassina, Valvarrone, Val d'Esino, and the Larian Riviera: cheeses such as Taleggio and Robiola, honey, cured meats, and traditional sweets.
Between gastronomy and farming tradition
In the ex-Fornace area, in the locality of Fornace Merlo, gastronomic stands and local producers are featured alongside the historic Interprovincial Show of Brown Cattle, which links the sagra to the world of mountain pastures and livestock farming. It is an event that tells the story of the cheesemaking and farming identity of the Lecco valleys.
A Ferragosto event with a hundred thousand visitors
Held in the heart of summer, around Ferragosto, the Sagra delle Sagre attracts a vast audience: the 2024 edition surpassed one hundred thousand visitors. From 2026, the management of the event will be entrusted to PK Events for the three-year period 2026-2028, confirming the importance of this event in the tourist calendar of Valsassina.

The 61st Sagra delle Sagre
The 61st edition of the Sagra delle Sagre will be held in Barzio from August 8 to 16, 2026, in the usual ex-Fornace area (Fornace Merlo locality). The event confirms its role as a major showcase for the typical products of Valsassina and the surrounding valleys.
For the 2026 edition, management has been entrusted to PK Events srls for the 2026-2028 three-year period. Among the gastronomic stands featuring cheeses, cured meats, honey, and sweets, the Interprovincial Show of Brown Cattle will also return, symbolising the sagra's connection to the cheesemaking and livestock tradition of the Lecco mountains.

How to get there
Barzio can be reached from Lecco along the SP62 of Valsassina in about 40 minutes. By car, the reference stop for buses is at the entrance of Pasturo, on the Lecco-Taceno line.
