The Sagra del Cinghiale is one of the longest-running and most beloved festivals in Guardea, a municipality in the Amerino area of the province of Terni. Now in its 26th edition, it celebrates wild boar, a game meat symbol of the cuisine of inland Umbria, the star of the tables in Piazza Pietro Panfili.
Many Preparations, from Classic to Hamburger
The menu offers wild boar in many variations: from the classic wild boar stew to pappardelle with ragù, to the original wild boar hamburger, a dish that appeals to younger generations without betraying tradition. Table service is provided, and each evening is accompanied by music and dancing, making the festival a moment of celebration for the entire community.
A Late Summer Classic
Together with the historic Sagra degli Gnocchi (Gnocchi Festival), the Sagra del Cinghiale is one of the pillars of Guardea's summer calendar. How to Get There
Guardea (TR) is located in the Amerino region, reachable by car from the E45 (exit towards Baschi/Guardea) or from the SS205 Amerina. The festival takes place in Piazza Pietro Panfili.
