Montecastrilli's summer festival
The Sagra dell'Anatra, the gastronomic heart of the Sotto le Stelle di Montecastrilli event, is one of the longest-standing and most popular events in the town, in the province of Terni. For ten days, the historic centre comes alive with stalls, music, and tables under the August sky.
Duck, the queen of the table
The signature dish is roast duck, a traditional preparation that gives the sagra its name, alongside pappardelle with duck and many other specialities of Umbrian cuisine. There is also the Angolo del Goloso (Gourmet Corner), dedicated to desserts. Service is at the table.
Music, dancing, and fun for everyone
Each evening offers live music and dancing with the best orchestras in Umbria, with free admission. For families, a large inflatable play area and activities for children are set up, making the sagra an event suitable for all ages.
Sagra dell'Anatra — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Sagra dell'Anatra - Sotto le Stelle di Montecastrilli reaches its 32nd edition and will be held from 14 to 23 August in the historic centre of the town.
The star is roast duck, accompanied by pappardelle and many other specialities, with a corner dedicated to desserts. Every evening features live music and dancing with great orchestras, free admission, and a large inflatable area for the little ones.
