The popular festival of Contre

The Sagra dei Peri is one of the most anticipated summer events in Contre, a hamlet of Caldes in the heart of the Val di Sole, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Organized by the Gruppo Giovani Contre, the festival brings three days of late-August excitement to the Le Contre Sports and Recreation Center, a well-equipped area overlooking the Noce River that features a bar, playground, rafting center, fire pits, and a camper area.

Three days of music, sports, and tradition

The typical program of the Sagra dei Peri balances evening entertainment with community traditions. Friday and Saturday nights are dedicated to live music, featuring performances by popular tribute bands playing the greatest hits of Italian and international music, followed by DJ sets until late. Saturday afternoon is enlivened by a traditional amateur soccer tournament, while the kitchen and bar remain open throughout the festival.

Sunday: Faith, community, and the Fire Department

The final day, Sunday, preserves the most traditional spirit of the festival: it begins with mass and a procession, followed by a traditional lunch open to everyone and the mora game tournament. The afternoon highlights the most family-friendly moment, with activities and games organized by the Volunteer Fire Department of Caldes, allowing children to get up close to fire trucks and learn about the world of firefighting. The festival concludes with a lively dance party.

A free-admission event in Val di Sole

The Sagra dei Peri is a free-admission event that offers an authentic glimpse into village life and the hospitality of the Val di Sole, away from the most crowded tourist circuits. The natural setting of the Noce River and the Brenta Dolomites, combined with traditional cuisine and a family atmosphere, makes it a favorite among both locals and summer visitors to Trentino.
