About RunBrusco

RunBrusco is the non-competitive fun run and walk that animates Quattro Castella every year, on the Reggiano hills of the Emilian Apennines. Starting from Piazza Dante, the event winds along the Matildic trails through nature and tradition, combining sport with solidarity: registration fees support associations like ADMO, AVIS, and AIDO, and local public health projects. A day open to everyone, from families with children to the fittest athletes.

RunBrusco: Running and Walking for a Good Cause

RunBrusco is a non-competitive fun run and walk held in Quattro Castella, in the Province of Reggio Emilia, in the heart of the Matildic hills of Emilia-Romagna. Born in 2019 as "Eco Walk for Life," the run has become a regular fixture on the Reggiano sports and solidarity calendar, attracting hundreds of participants each year, including runners, walkers, and families.

Sport and Solidarity on the Matildic Trails

The distinctive feature of RunBrusco is its solidarity aspect. The routes traverse the Matildic trails that climb the Reggiano hills, offering views of Matilda of Canossa's castles and the hilly landscape of the Apennines. The proceeds from registrations are donated to associations such as ADMO, AVIS, and AIDO, and to local public health projects, including the purchase of equipment for the Reggio Emilia hospital. Running or walking at RunBrusco therefore means concretely supporting organ, blood, and bone marrow donation.

An Event for Everyone

The event is designed to welcome all types of participants:

  • Families with children, thanks to a short and accessible route
  • Walkers and trekking enthusiasts, attracted by the hilly trails
  • Runners looking for a more challenging course through the woods and Matildic climbs

Along the route, participants will find numerous refreshment points with tastings of local typical products, while the finish line in Piazza Dante is accompanied by festive moments and side events. Participation is free for children under 12, confirming the event's family-friendly and inclusive nature.

Organization and Territory

RunBrusco is organized by Atletica Reggio ASD in collaboration with Team Alpen Sport and with the patronage of the Municipality of Quattro Castella. The event enhances the connection between community, sport, and environment, promoting knowledge of the trails and the landscape heritage of the Matildic lands.
