The half marathon of Parma's historic center, between sport and solidarity
The Parma Half Marathon is the most anticipated running event in the municipality of Parma, a city of art and gastronomy in Emilia-Romagna. Organized by CUS Parma A.S.D., the event takes place every year in September and transforms the historic center into a large sports circuit: the main race is the competitive half marathon over the classic distance of 21.0975 km, FIDAL homologated, with start and finish in Piazza Garibaldi.
What makes this race special is the route: it doesn't wind through the outskirts but crosses Parma's most ancient and evocative streets, passing by glimpses and monuments of the historic center. It is a flat course, with very slight undulations, ideal both for those seeking a good time and for those running for the pleasure of it. The streets closed to traffic and the crowds along the route provide the backdrop for a day of celebration that involves the entire community.
Alongside the half marathon, the program offers various options for every level and age:
The Parma Half Marathon has always been much more than a race. The 'Corri per la vita' raises funds for Emergency, the international humanitarian organization, uniting thousands of walkers in a concrete gesture of solidarity. This combination of sport, values, and community is the hallmark of the event, attracting families, young people, and athletes from all over the Parma province and beyond every year.
With thousands of participants across the various races, the Parma Half Marathon confirms itself as one of the leading running events in Emilia-Romagna and an opportunity to discover Parma, the capital of good food, in a festive and dynamic setting. The race village, the final pasta party, and the atmosphere of the historic center complete an experience that goes far beyond the simple mileage.
