The night half marathon in the heart of Cuneo, blending sport and solidarity
In Cuneo, the capital of the province of the same name in the heart of Piedmont, running changes its rhythm once the sun goes down. Run the Night – Cuneo Half Marathon is an evening running event that turns the historic center into an illuminated stage for runners of all levels. Far from the heat of summer daytime races, here you run when the air is cooler and the lights of the arcades and Piazza Galimberti accompany every step.
The event has grown rapidly: launched in 2025 as its first edition, it has already attracted thousands of participants, confirming a winning formula that combines sport, a nocturnal atmosphere, and a strong commitment to charity.
The course is a picturesque 10.5 km loop, officially measured and approved by FIDAL, which embraces the entire Cuneo plateau. The competitive 21.0975 km half marathon is run by completing this circuit twice, while shorter distances cover just one lap. You will run through the historic arcades, long tree-lined avenues overlooking the mountains, and the city's monumental squares, with a gentle and constant elevation change that makes the course ideal both for those chasing a fast time and those simply wanting to enjoy the run.
Run the Night is not just a race for registered athletes: alongside the competitive half marathon, there is a 10 km non-competitive run, fitwalking, and youth races dedicated to younger categories. It is an event designed to involve the entire Cuneo community and the many enthusiasts arriving from outside the province.
The true engine of the event is solidarity. For every registration, 10 euros are donated to the "C'è da Fare" association, which is committed to supporting the mental health and psychological well-being of young people. Running the Run the Night therefore also means making a concrete contribution to support projects in the area.
As the capital of one of the largest provinces in Piedmont, Cuneo is a city of elegant arcades, wide squares, and a direct view of the Alpine arc. Experiencing the city at night, on the run, with the party continuing after the finish line in Piazza Galimberti, is an experience that goes beyond simple running competition.
The 2nd edition of Run the Night will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026, in Cuneo, with an evening start from Via Roma. The course is a 10.5 km loop that embraces the city plateau, to be repeated twice for the competitive half marathon. The 2026 edition has attracted over 2,000 registered participants across the various distances, confirming the rapid growth of the event.
Bib collection is scheduled at the Karhu Store on June 25 and 26, while the after-race party will enliven Piazza Galimberti at the end of the race.
The route crosses the arcades of the historic center, tree-lined avenues with views of the Alps, and the monumental squares of Cuneo, on a course officially measured and approved by FIDAL.
Cuneo can be reached by car via the A33 Asti-Cuneo motorway and the main provincial roads. By train, the Cuneo station is connected to Turin and the line to Ventimiglia. The start is set in Via Roma, in the historic center.
Registration for the competitive half marathon is done online; registration for the non-competitive run opens in the first months of the year. Bibs can be collected at the Karhu Store in the days leading up to the race (June 25-26).
The start is scheduled for the evening; the time limit to complete the half marathon is approximately 3 hours.
As this is a night race, we recommend clothing suitable for evening temperatures. After the finish, the after-race party takes place in Piazza Galimberti.
