The new comics and pop culture festival in Rubiana, Susa Valley
In the spring of 2026, Rubiana—a small town in the Metropolitan City of Turin overlooking the lower Susa Valley—will host a brand-new event: Rubiana Play & Comics, a festival dedicated to the world of comics, illustration, and creativity. Announced in February 2026, the initiative marks Rubiana's entry into the growing network of Piedmontese pop festivals, bringing an event typically reserved for large cities into the mountains.
The festival is designed to be held entirely outdoors. The main area is the parish field at Via Roma 4, but the event extends to various parts of the town, engaging the urban fabric and the local community. This choice turns the entire village into a path to be discovered, filled with stands, artists at work, and corners dedicated to creativity, all set within a natural landscape that is an experience in itself.
The philosophy of Rubiana Play & Comics is to offer an open and inclusive space for artists of all ages. Illustrators, comic artists, and creatives can take part in the event both as exhibitors, to showcase their work, and as sellers, creating a market for art and self-produced goods. It is a precious opportunity, especially for emerging talents, who find here a stage on par with more established authors.
The festival is born from the collaboration between the Municipality of Rubiana and the ARS Rubiana Cultural Association, which is active year-round with a rich calendar of cultural initiatives. Rubiana Play & Comics represents a new addition to this program and an opportunity to attract comics and pop culture enthusiasts from Turin, the Susa Valley, and all over Piedmont.
Rubiana Play & Comics debuts on the weekend of May 30 and 31, 2026, for its very first edition. The event takes place entirely outdoors, with its hub at the parish field on Via Roma 4 and stands and activities scattered throughout the center of Rubiana. The festival is dedicated to the world of comics, illustration, and creativity, and aims to be an open and inclusive space for artists of all ages, who can participate as both exhibitors and sellers.
As this is the first edition, the detailed program (guests, schedules, and activities) will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event via the channels of the ARS Rubiana Association and the Municipality of Rubiana.
