Rovereto's historic center dives into a retro atmosphere with swing music, vintage markets, and classic vehicles
The Rovereto Vintage Festival is the ultimate celebration of retro style that colors the historic center of Rovereto, in the Vallagarina valley, every summer. Born in 2019 from an idea by Serendipity Eventi, with artistic direction by Cinzia Zandonai, the festival transforms the city's squares, courtyards, and streets into a true open-air museum: shop windows become small displays of bygone treasures, and the city relives the atmosphere of the 1920s through the 1980s.
The heart of the event is the vintage market set up in Piazza Damiano Chiesa, featuring stalls with clothing, accessories, and nostalgic items in perfect 1950s style. Completing the picture are the classic vehicles: historic cars and motorcycles displayed in the city's courtyards, in collaboration with Motor Garage Rovereto, the Fiat Historical Archive, and private collectors, alongside a collection of gleaming American cars. There is also plenty of street food served by quirky food trucks, accompanying visitors throughout the day.
The festival's soundtrack is defined by swing, rock'n'roll, and boogie-woogie: vinyl DJ sets along the streets, live concerts in the Cortile dell'ex Tavolare, and dancers who invite the public to join in with short, free performances. Swing dancing and lindy hop enliven Largo Foibe, while pin-ups, street artists, and circus performers entertain adults and children in every corner of the center. It is a free, widespread event that allows both locals and visitors to rediscover the timeless charm of their city.
The third edition of the Rovereto Vintage Festival colored the historic center of Rovereto from July 9 to 11, 2026, confirming the open-air museum formula dedicated to retro style. Between Piazza Damiano Chiesa, the Cortile dell'ex Tavolare, and Largo Foibe, visitors enjoyed vintage markets, classic vehicles, live music, swing dancing, and food trucks, with free admission and the involvement of dozens of local businesses.
Musical guests at the festival included the band Let's swing! (Sabrina Gagliano on vocals, Fabrizio Larentis on double bass, Mauro Marinelli on piano, Gianlorenzo Imbriaco on drums, Luca Rubertelli on sax/clarinet) and Bèl e Pòc, with a repertoire of the most beloved Italian songs of the past.
