The festival of kindness and well-being on the Teramo coast
The Roseto Gentile Fest is an event that animates Roseto degli Abruzzi, a historic seaside town in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo, every year at the end of June. Promoted by the Italia Gentile Movement in collaboration with the Municipality of Roseto degli Abruzzi, the festival was created to celebrate kindness as a foundational community value and to promote a culture of well-being, deep listening, and inner growth. Roseto has been part of the Italian network of "Kind Cities" since 2022.
The program spans three days filled with activities from dawn until late evening, held in some of the city's most evocative locations: Pineta Savini, the Villa Comunale, the beachfront lidos, Villa Paris park, and the Borsacchio Nature Reserve. Mornings are dedicated to physical movement with sessions of qi gong, gentle yoga, and accessible yoga, while afternoons host seminars and mindfulness workshops focused on forgiveness, conflict management, and healthy relationships.
There is no shortage of emotional highlights, such as sunrise concerts by the sea, sung meditations, inclusive performances, and mindful walks immersed in the nature of the reserve. The festival places great emphasis on inclusion, featuring events like accessible swimming and activities designed for all ages, from children to adults.
Every year, the Roseto Gentile Fest attracts artists, writers, and speakers focused on well-being and personal growth. Key figures include biologist and author Daniel Lumera, a reference point for the movement, and singer-songwriters appointed as Ambassadors of Kindness. The "Dialogues of Kindness" meetings explore profound themes such as the meaning of life, the transformation of pain, and paths to inner growth in an atmosphere of sharing and openness.
Beyond its cultural and wellness programming, the festival maintains a strong focus on solidarity, with initiatives supporting the most vulnerable. Admission to most events is free, with reservations recommended for activities with limited capacity.
Known as the "Lido of Roses," Roseto degli Abruzzi is one of the most beloved seaside destinations on the Teramo coast, famous for its long sandy beach, flowered promenade, and Blue Flag status. The Roseto Gentile Fest offers the chance to experience the city in a different dimension—one defined by slowness, nature, and authentic connections—blending the beauty of the Abruzzo sea with a journey of inner rediscovery.
The third edition of the Roseto Gentile Fest (June 26-28, 2026) animated Roseto degli Abruzzi with a rich program from dawn to dusk. Among the most anticipated moments were the sunrise concert "A Place on Earth" with Erica Boschiero at Lido Mediterraneo, morning qi gong and yoga sessions at Pineta Savini, the "Beyond Conflict" seminars with Valeria Pompili, and sung meditations at the Villa Comunale. The heart of the edition featured the "Dialogues of Kindness" with singer-songwriter Simone Cristicchi, appointed Ambassador of Kindness, and author Daniel Lumera. Artistically directed by Candida Di Bonaventura, the festival also offered the "Letting Go" workshop with Lumera at Villa Paris, inclusive swimming, laughter yoga for children and adults, and activities dedicated to inclusion and solidarity.
