About Ronde del Canavese

The Ronde del Canavese is the car rally that inaugurates the Piedmontese racing season every year at the end of February, taking place between Rivarolo Canavese and Cuorgnè. The start and finish are held at the Urban Center in Rivarolo, with the service park in Cuorgnè and the famous Pratiglione special stage—known as the "hundred-curve stage"—which descends from the Pemonte hamlet towards Prascorsano. It is a highly anticipated event that draws dozens of crews and thousands of enthusiasts to the roads of the Upper Canavese, in the province of Turin.

The Ronde del Canavese

The Ronde del Canavese is the rally race that traditionally opens the motorsport season in Piedmont. It takes place between Rivarolo Canavese and Cuorgnè, two municipalities in the Upper Canavese area in the province of Turin, and every year it attracts dozens of Italian and international crews ready to challenge themselves on the technical and demanding roads of this territory. Organized by the RTmotorevent team, the event is now a classic on the regional rally calendar and an ideal testing ground for drivers looking to fine-tune their cars and setups for the entire sporting year.

The route and the hundred-curve stage

The heart of the race is the Pratiglione special stage, approximately eleven kilometers long, which runs from the Pemonte hamlet through locations that have become legendary for fans: the Rivara junction, the pass in front of Pratiglione with its double hairpin, and the long descent towards Prascorsano. The track is so winding that it has been nicknamed the "hundred-curve stage," where clean driving and a steady rhythm make more of a difference than pure power. The stage is repeated several times throughout the day, giving the public numerous opportunities to admire the cars in action.

Rivarolo and Cuorgnè, the two hubs of the race

The headquarters are in Rivarolo Canavese, where the Urban Center area hosts the start, finish, and awards ceremony. In Cuorgnè, the service park is set up in Piazza Ponte Vecchio, and the regrouping area in Piazza Martiri: here, mechanics work on the cars between stages, and spectators can get close to the pits to experience the rally atmosphere up close.

A Canavese tradition

Now in its twentieth edition, the Ronde del Canavese is much more than just a sporting competition: it is a festival that involves the entire community of the Upper Canavese, with road closures, lively towns, and enthusiasts lining the hairpins to cheer on the drivers. The race awards historic trophies such as the Livio Bausano Memorial, dedicated to the overall winner, and the Gino Bellan Memorial, reserved for the first Canavese crew. For the Piedmontese territory, it represents an opportunity for visibility and a moment of great popular participation in one of the most evocative areas at the foot of the Canavese valleys.

Ronde del Canavese — edition 2026

The start and finish were at the Urban Center in Rivarolo Canavese, with the service park in Cuorgnè and the Pratiglione special stage, the famous "hundred curves." The overall victory went to Carmine Tribuzio and Alice Tasselli in a Skoda Fabia.

The twentieth edition of the Ronde del Canavese, held on February 21 and 22, 2026, celebrated an important milestone with a record entry of seventy crews.
