The closing event of the Festival of Knowledge in the heart of Corio
Courtyard Stories is the concluding event of the 2026 Festival of Knowledge - A Territory Telling Its Story, the major widespread cultural project promoted by the Mountain Union of Municipalities of the Lanzo, Ceronda, and Casternone Valleys. After visiting fifteen municipalities with fifteen different events between May and September, the Festival has chosen Corio, in the province of Turin, for its grand finale: Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the village opens to visitors with a route through its hidden corners, tales, and local atmosphere.
The idea behind the event is simple and evocative: the courtyards, archways, and hidden spaces of Corio's historic center become a stage for memories, crafts, and traditions for an afternoon. Walking from one courtyard to another, the public is invited to rediscover the daily life of the past, family histories, and the knowledge that has shaped this corner of the Canavese region, at the foot of the Lanzo Valleys. It is a way to experience the village from the inside, away from the rush, letting yourself be guided by the places and those who inhabit them.
The Festival of Knowledge was born in 2026 with a powerful image: an open book, a symbol of knowledge that does not remain closed but circulates among people, traditions, art, nature, identity, and community. The Mountain Union has networked fifteen municipalities - Lanzo Torinese, Germagnano, Balme, Varisella, Coassolo Torinese, Traves, Balangero, Ala di Stura, Vallo Torinese, Cantoira, Pessinetto, Chialamberto, La Cassa, Givoletto, and Corio - each with its own event, supporting local cultural planning with a contribution of up to 50% of expenses. Courtyard Stories in Corio is the final stop on this collective journey through the tangible and intangible heritage of the Turin mountains.
About thirty kilometers from Turin, Corio is a Canavese village that preserves the charm of mountain towns without sacrificing its proximity to the city. Participating in Courtyard Stories means discovering an authentic territory, where culture is not confined to a theater but lives in the streets, in the courtyards, and in the voices of those who tell their stories. A perfect occasion for an early autumn Sunday in the Lanzo Valleys.
Courtyard Stories 2026 concludes the calendar of the Festival of Knowledge - A Territory Telling Its Story. The appointment is for Sunday, September 27, 2026, in Corio (Metropolitan City of Turin), from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The event presents itself as a route through the village's corners, tales, and atmosphere: the courtyards and spaces of the historic center open to visitors, accompanied by narratives and suggestions related to the life and knowledge of the Canavese village. It is the last of the fifteen stops that have enlivened the Lanzo Valleys from May to September 2026.
The detailed program for Courtyard Stories 2026 will be published by the Municipality of Corio and the Mountain Union of the Lanzo Valleys in the weeks preceding the event. The date is confirmed for Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, in the historic center of Corio.
