The grand Piedmontese mixed boiled meat dinner in Volpiano
The Piedmontese Boiled Meat Festival is an autumn event organized by the Pro Loco Volpianese in the town of Volpiano, in the province of Turin, in the heart of the Piedmontese Canavese. The event celebrates one of the most recognizable symbols of regional gastronomy: the gran bollito misto alla piemontese, a dish for special occasions from the peasant and bourgeois traditions of Piedmont.
The festival takes place at the Sala Polivalente on Via Trieste, a covered and heated space that allows guests to enjoy the evening in total comfort even during the cold season. The event takes the form of a large community dinner: guests sit at long tables and share the meal in a festive atmosphere, following the spirit typical of Italian Pro Loco associations, which have always been the guardians of the gastronomic and popular traditions of small towns.
The absolute star is the boiled meat, prepared according to the traditional Piedmontese recipe. The dish combines various cuts and meats cooked for a long time in broth and is served accompanied by the inevitable sauces, first and foremost the famous bagnetto verde, as well as other homemade sauces that enhance its flavor. It is a dish that tells the story of Piedmontese convivial culture, made of patience in the kitchen and sociability at the table.
Beyond the goodness of the dish, the Boiled Meat Festival is a moment of gathering for the community of Volpiano and for visitors from the Canavese and the Turin area. The Pro Loco Volpianese includes the initiative in its rich annual calendar of events, which ranges from patronal feasts to seasonal fairs and food and wine evenings, helping to keep local traditions alive and promote the region.
As this is a dinner with seating, participation is generally by reservation. To find out the full menu, times, and registration methods, it is best to contact the Pro Loco Volpianese directly, which publishes the details of the edition close to the event.
