A night of live music and solidarity in Forcoli for the village of Sapala in Burkina Faso
Rock & Peace for Sapala is one of the most cherished summer events in Forcoli, a village in the municipality of Palaia, in the province of Pisa, nestled in the heart of the Tuscan Valdera. For one night, Piazza Guido Brunner transforms into a large open-air stage where live music, entertainment, and civic engagement blend into one big community festival. The event is organized by the Rock & Peace ODV association in collaboration with the Movimento Shalom, and was born with a clear goal: to combine the joy of gathering together with a meaningful cause.
The program features a variety of bands and cover bands guaranteed to get audiences of all ages dancing and singing, accompanied by DJ sets that keep the square buzzing until late. Beyond the music, Rock & Peace offers a formula designed for everyone:
Admission is free: everyone is welcome to join, with the opportunity to support the project through donations and the purchase of official merchandise.
The heart of Rock & Peace is solidarity. Proceeds from the event's official merchandise (caps, mugs, scarves, and other gadgets) are dedicated to supporting the village of Sapala in Burkina Faso. After funding the construction of a well to ensure access to water, the project expanded to provide the community with schooling, food, medicine, and essential goods. Over the years, the initiative has also supported economic independence programs for the women of the village, in a spirit of solidarity that spreads from person to person.
Forcoli is one of the most vibrant villages in Palaia, a hilltop town in the province of Pisa known for its historic center and the landscape of hills, vineyards, and olive groves typical of the Valdera. A night at Rock & Peace is also the perfect opportunity to discover this authentic corner of Tuscany, where the small-town atmosphere and community warmth make the festival truly special.
