Two nights of beer, music, and conviviality in San Martino, in the heart of the Maremma hills
Every year, at the beginning of July, the San Martino area in Roccatederighi becomes the beating heart of the village's summer life. The Beer Festival, organized with passion by the Pro Loco Roccatederighi, draws residents, vacationers, and visitors from neighboring towns for two evenings of conviviality. Roccatederighi is one of the most characteristic villages in the Municipality of Roccastrada, in the province of Grosseto, perched among the wooded hills of the inland Tuscan Maremma.
The heart of the festival is, of course, the beer, served on tap in an informal and festive atmosphere. Alongside the drink stations, the food stands managed by Pro Loco volunteers offer typical dishes of Maremma summer festivals: grilled meats, sandwiches, fried specialties, and other treats to be enjoyed outdoors under the starry sky of the Grosseto hills. It is a genuine opportunity to meet up, chat, and share a meal, in keeping with the best tradition of village festivals.
The evenings are accompanied by live music and entertainment, offering the perfect mix of dancing, cheer, and relaxation. The intimate and familiar setting makes the San Martino Beer Festival a perfect event for those seeking the authenticity of local traditions, far from large city gatherings. Children, teenagers, and adults all find their place here, in a festive atmosphere that unites the different generations of the village.
The Beer Festival is part of the rich summer calendar of the Roccastrada territory, within the 'Spring in Roccastrada: the territory and its flavors' series, which from May to September enlivens the main town and its hamlets — from Ribolla to Sticciano, from Montemassi to Sassofortino — with food festivals, celebrations, and shows. For those visiting the Maremma in summer, it is the ideal opportunity to discover the straightforward hospitality of Roccatederighi and immerse themselves in the authentic atmosphere of a small Tuscan village in celebration.
An ancient village of medieval origin, Roccatederighi retains a discreet charm made of stone alleys, panoramic views of the hills, and traditions kept alive all year round, from the Historical Palio to the Medieval Village festival. The Beer Festival represents the more informal and modern face of this community, capable of blending contemporary conviviality with the warmth typical of the most authentic Tuscany.
The Roccatederighi Beer Festival returns in 2026 with two evenings, Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th, in the San Martino area. The event is confirmed in the official summer calendar of the Municipality of Roccastrada and in the 'Spring in Roccastrada: the territory and its flavors' series.
As per tradition, the Pro Loco Roccatederighi will set up beer-on-tap and food stands, with music and entertainment for the evenings. The full program — including details on times, menus, and musical offerings — will be published by the organizers in the weeks preceding the festival.
San Martino is located in Roccatederighi, a hamlet of the Municipality of Roccastrada (GR). By car, it can be reached via the SS73 and the provincial roads of the Maremma hills; the nearest train station is Roccastrada (Siena-Grosseto line), from which you can continue by car.
Admission to the festival is free. Beer and food are paid for at the food stands managed by the Pro Loco, with popular prices typical of village festivals.
