Daily journeys between poetry and photography, stopping at the Fara Novarese Civic Library
From September 26 to October 3, 2026, the Civic Library of Fara Novarese, a small town in the Province of Novara in Piedmont, hosts a stop of the traveling documentary exhibition "Quasi Paesaggi. Daily journeys between poetry and photography". The exhibition, created by architect and photographer Romina Emili, tours the civic libraries of the Basso Novarese Library System throughout 2026, bringing a journey of images and words to each town.
The exhibition features panels where photographs engage in a dialogue with short poetic compositions. At the center is the landscape of the Novara area and the Bassa: the countryside, irrigation canals, rural and urban architecture, and the marks left by time on these places. It is a narrative built over more than ten years of daily observation, attentive to the relationship between human beings, their constant search for self, and the spaces they live in every day. The author's sensitivity, trained as an architect, is evident in her attention to lines, perspectives, and the way light inhabits buildings and the plains.
The initiative was born from the Carlo Negroni Civic Library of Novara with the Novara Center for Literary Studies, curated by Roberto Cicala, and accompanies the book of the same name published locally. The traveling format brings the exhibition from library to library between June and November 2026: the Fara Novarese stop is part of this widespread cultural circuit, designed to bring the community closer to photography, poetry, and the rediscovery of their own landscape. Each participating library is also gifted a copy of the volume.
The exhibition is set up in the spaces of the Fara Novarese Civic Library and can be visited during library opening hours, with free admission. To check updated hours and any side events, it is advisable to contact the municipal library or the ATL tourist office of the Province of Novara.
