About RiflessiSonori

RiflessiSonori is the summer music festival of Calceranica al Lago, located on the shores of Lake Caldonazzo in the Upper Valsugana valley. Conceived by Eddy Serafini and promoted by the Lucilla May APS Association, it weaves together early and baroque music, musical theatre, and chamber concerts within the evocative settings of the Church of Sant'Ermete—the oldest in Valsugana—and the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta. A summer programme that combines high-quality music, historical heritage, and lakeside landscapes, with free-admission events.

RiflessiSonori: music reflected in Lake Caldonazzo

RiflessiSonori is the classical music festival that brings Calceranica al Lago to life every summer. This small town in the Upper Valsugana valley overlooks the shores of Lake Caldonazzo in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Founded in 2023 by Eddy Serafini, the festival's artistic director, the event is promoted by the Lucilla May APS Association with the collaboration of the Municipality of Calceranica al Lago and the support of the Alta Valsugana and Bersntol Community.

A project weaving together music, art, and heritage

The core idea behind RiflessiSonori is both simple and ambitious: to enhance music, art, nature, and local historical heritage simultaneously, offering the public moments of beauty and excellence. The concerts are held in venues of great identity value, which become an integral part of the listening experience. The festival has been awarded the Eco Eventi Trentino label, a recognition reserved for events committed to environmental sustainability.

The venues: two historic churches in Valsugana

  • Church of Sant'Ermete: considered the oldest church in Valsugana, with origins dating back to the 2nd century and significant 16th-century renovations, it houses a precious white limestone altar dedicated to Diana.
  • Church of Santa Maria Assunta: a medieval parish church, among the oldest in the Lake Caldonazzo area, it preserves a prized organ built by the Venetian master Gaetano Antonio Callido. Its belvedere, overlooking the lake, hosts the outdoor events.

A programme ranging from early music to musical theatre

The programme spans from early and baroque music to musical theatre, chamber music, and interdisciplinary paths. Significant space is dedicated to young performers, thanks in part to the collaboration with the "F. A. Bonporti" Conservatory of Trento, which brings graduation concerts and educational projects to Calceranica. Each event is designed to create a dialogue between the repertoire and the acoustics and history of the spaces that host them.

Calceranica al Lago and the Upper Valsugana

Immersed in the greenery of the Valsugana valley and overlooking the swimmable waters of Lake Caldonazzo, Calceranica al Lago is one of the most appreciated tourist destinations in Trentino during the summer. RiflessiSonori adds a refined cultural dimension to the local sports and relaxation offerings, inviting residents and visitors to discover music in truly charming settings. Most concerts are free to attend or by donation.

RiflessiSonori — edition 2026

The fourth edition of RiflessiSonori accompanies the 2026 summer in Calceranica al Lago with five concerts featuring early music, baroque music, and musical theatre. The festival coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the Lucilla May APS Association, which celebrates the milestone with a programme held between the Church of Sant'Ermete and the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta.

RiflessiSonori 2026: the fourth edition

The 2026 edition of RiflessiSonori, the fourth of the festival, offers five events from June to August, in the year the Lucilla May APS Association celebrates its twenty years of musical activity. The programme ranges from early music to musical theatre, from chamber music to interdisciplinary paths, always within the historic spaces of Calceranica al Lago.

The programme

  • June 19 – Church of Sant'Ermete: "Homage to the poet Don Mario Bebber", in collaboration with the Regional Festival of Sacred Music, featuring Chiara Turrini, Annely Zeni, and Cagla Kurt performing music by Antonio Maria Fracchetti.
  • July 9 – Church of Santa Maria Assunta: "Baroque dialogues for recorder", a graduation concert with the "F. A. Bonporti" Conservatory of Trento, featuring music by Vivaldi, Telemann, Sammartini, Blavet, and Graun.
  • July 23 – Belvedere of the Church of Santa Maria Assunta: "The Magic Flute", a show freely adapted from Mozart, with the Tribsterill Trio and narrator Carlo Corsini.
  • August 5 – Church of Sant'Ermete: Lucini-Pangrazzi Duo for guitar and vibraphone, with a repertoire dedicated to Astor Piazzolla and the 20th century.
  • August 30 – Church of Santa Maria Assunta: Renaissance and baroque music concert with Fornace Musica Antica 2026.

The festival, bearing the Eco Eventi Trentino label, confirms its vocation to combine quality music with the enhancement of the historical heritage of the Upper Valsugana valley.
