Bavarian-style beer festival in the heart of Sicily
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Riesi Oktoberfest, with its evocative subtitle Made in Sicily, is the beer festival that transforms the town square of Riesi, in the province of Caltanissetta, into a large village dedicated to taste, music, and conviviality every autumn. Inspired by the famous Bavarian festival in Munich, the event captures its joyful spirit while setting it in a distinctly Sicilian context, defined by hospitality, cheer, and a desire to come together.
The heart of the event is, naturally, the beer, served in abundance at the large stands set up for the occasion, accompanied by culinary specialties designed for evenings spent in good company. Surrounding the taps is a program packed with entertainment:
The Riesi Oktoberfest is promoted by the Associazione Riesi Può, an organization founded in 2016 by a group of young people with the goal of enlivening the town and keeping the Riesi community tradition alive. Over the years, the festival has grown to become a fixed date on the autumn calendar, attracting visitors not only from Riesi but from the entire Nisseno area.
Nestled in the hills of the Sicilian hinterland, Riesi is a town in the province of Caltanissetta, in Sicily, tied to the sulfur mining tradition and a strong local identity. For the community, the Oktoberfest represents an opportunity for collective celebration and the enhancement of their urban space, during a time of year when the evenings get cooler but the warmth of conviviality is never lacking.
Details for the 2026 edition of the Riesi Oktoberfest have not yet been released. Following the success of previous years, the beer festival is expected to return to the Riesi town square in October with beer, live music, a funfair, and entertainment. Dates and the program will be communicated by the Associazione Riesi Può through its official channels.
The event takes place in the town square of Riesi (CL), in Sicily. It can be reached by car via the SS626 Valle del Salso road; the nearest airports are Catania Fontanarossa and Comiso.
The event is traditionally held in October. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: we recommend following the social media channels of the Associazione Riesi Può for updates.
Access to the festival area is generally free; you only pay for what you consume at the beer and food stalls.
