About International Street Food

International Street Food is Italy's largest traveling festival dedicated to street food, making a stop in Piazza Armerina, in the heart of the Enna province. For a few days, the central Piazza Falcone e Borsellino transforms into a village of flavors, where dozens of food trucks offer specialties from all over Italy and the five continents: from Abruzzese arrosticini to Spanish paella, from Neapolitan fried pizza to American pulled pork. A free event that combines taste, music, and conviviality in one of the most beautiful art cities in inland Sicily.

A journey through the world's flavors in Piazza Armerina

International Street Food is the largest traveling festival dedicated to street food in Italy, organized by A.I.R.S. - Associazione Italiana Ristoratori di Strada, led by its founder Alfredo Orofino. Every year, the event enlivens dozens of Italian squares from March to November, bringing an authentic international gastronomic village everywhere it goes. In November 2025, the tour stopped for the first time in Piazza Armerina, a splendid art town in the province of Enna, in the heart of Sicily.

Piazza Falcone e Borsellino, capital of taste

The heart of the event is the central Piazza Falcone e Borsellino, in the market area, which for the occasion fills up with colorful food trucks and food stands. The space transforms into a gourmet trail where you can stroll freely, tasting different dishes and letting yourself be guided by the aromas wafting through the streets of the historic center.

Specialties from Italy and the world

The gastronomic selection is the event's true strength. Featured specialties include:

  • Abruzzese arrosticini and Pugliese bombette
  • Neapolitan fried pizza and porchetta d'Ariccia
  • Cinta Senese burgers and American-style pulled pork
  • Spanish paella and Argentine and Mexican cuisine
  • Hungarian kurtos cakes and Italian and international craft beers

A true map of flavors that allows you to take a culinary journey through different cultures and traditions without ever leaving the square.

An event for the whole family

International Street Food is an event designed for audiences of all ages, with free admission and a convivial, relaxed atmosphere. The traveling format and long opening hours, from early afternoon until late at night, make it an ideal occasion for an evening out with friends or a tasty weekend stroll.

Piazza Armerina, an art city in inland Sicily

The stop in Piazza Armerina adds the charm of one of the most well-known locations in the Sicilian hinterland to the festival, famous worldwide for the Villa Romana del Casale and its extraordinary mosaics, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The event is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Piazza Armerina and in collaboration with Confartigianato Imprese Enna, in a union between international street food and the promotion of the local territory.

International Street Food — edition 2026

Following its debut in November 2025, International Street Food may return to Piazza Armerina in 2026 as part of the major A.I.R.S. national traveling tour. However, the dates for the 2026 edition in Piazza Armerina have not yet been officially announced. We recommend checking the official organization's channels for updates on the Sicilian tour schedule.

International Street Food continues its traveling tour in 2026 across more than 150 Italian squares from March to November. A new stop in Piazza Armerina, following its 2025 debut, has not yet been confirmed: the dates for the 2026 edition have not been published at this time. This page will be updated as soon as the organization announces the festival's potential return to the city.
