Riesi Festival of Typical Products, Flavours and Traditions

A celebration of flavours in the heart of inland Sicily

The Riesi Festival of Typical Products, Flavours and Traditions is the major autumn event in the municipality of Riesi, a town in the hinterland of the Caltanissetta province in inland Sicily. More than just a gastronomic fair, the event was created as a tourism and cultural promotion project to raise awareness and highlight the food, wine, and artisanal excellence of the Riesi area, offering visitors a portrait of a community deeply connected to its land and roots.

Where it takes place

The heart of the festival beats between two iconic local landmarks: the "Celestri" Urban Park and Villa "La Liniia" (formerly Raculmet). This is where the relaxation area and food village come to life, hosting producers' stands, tasting stations, and spaces dedicated to shows and workshops. A stroll through the stalls is a journey into the flavours of peasant cuisine, from family recipes passed down through generations to artisanal delicacies.

Local products

The absolute stars are the certified excellences of Riesi: PDO extra virgin olive oil and, above all, the DOC Riesi wine, a historic designation of the Caltanissetta wine scene. Alongside these, you will find traditional Riesi dishes prepared with fresh, genuine ingredients, local zero-kilometre products, and traditional pastries, often presented through seminars and educational sessions.

Music, shows, and families

The evenings come alive with live music, concerts, artistic performances, and entertainment for all ages. There is plenty of space dedicated to children's entertainment, making the festival a perfect outing for the whole family. Admission is free: you only pay for what you choose to taste at the stands.

A community event

The festival is the result of the collective work of local entities—including Liquoreria Chiolo, Servizio Cristiano, ASD Wonderland, Associazione La Vela, and I.I.S.S. Carafa—with the patronage of the Free Municipal Consortium of Caltanissetta. An event that, edition after edition, confirms Riesi's role as a small capital of taste in inland Sicily.
