rEsistenze — Lagorai Ecomuseum Festival

A mountain festival among the villages of Valsugana

rEsistenze — Lagorai Ecomuseum Festival is a traveling cultural event organized by the Lagorai Ecomuseum Association. Every July, it brings mountain culture to the small villages of eastern Valsugana, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). The festival is spread over four evenings, hosted in rotation across the four municipalities of the Ecomuseum: Carzano, Telve, Telve di Sopra, and Torcegno. In Carzano, the meetings are held in the charming setting of Villa Buffa Park.

Stories of men, women, and the mountains

The name of the event is a play on words: rEsistenze combines esistere (to exist) and resistere (to resist), because living at high altitude, beneath the Lagorai range, has always meant staying anchored to one's roots, the woods, and the land. The festival opens the territory to prominent figures from the worlds of mountaineering, entertainment, cinema, and publishing, enriching the cultural offerings of these small towns and sharing the alpine environment from many perspectives.

A multidisciplinary program

Each edition weaves together different genres: meetings with mountaineers and book presentations, theatrical performances inspired by great mountain feats, choir concerts featuring traditional Trentino music, and screenings of documentary films. The evenings are mostly held outdoors in parks and village squares, with indoor venues available in case of bad weather.

The Lagorai Ecomuseum

The Lagorai Ecomuseum is a widespread museum that promotes the natural, historical, and cultural heritage of the four municipalities on the right bank of the Maso stream, preserving thematic trails, the ethnographic museum, and the popular traditions of Valsugana. rEsistenze is one of the highlights of its summer calendar.
