The Violin and Organ Concert in Villar Dora is one of the most evocative events of the "Regie Armonie Along the Via Francigena" series, a musical project that brings great classical music to the historic churches of the municipalities in the lower Susa Valley. In Villar Dora, a small town in the Province of Turin, Piedmont, the evening is held in the parish church of Santi Vincenzo e Anastasio, a cozy space with intimate acoustics, perfect for the dialogue between violin and organ.

The performers

The concert features two talented musicians: violinist Maurizio Cadossi and organist Luca Benedicti. Their program weaves the voices of the two instruments together in a repertoire that spans the golden centuries of European music, from the 17th-century Baroque era to the early 19th century.

The musical program

The evening offers an itinerary through the great composers of the classical and baroque tradition. The program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Pachelbel, Tomaso Albinoni, Domenico Zipoli, Arcangelo Corelli, and Vincenzo Bellini: an alternation of famous pieces and more intimate moments, designed to enhance the timbre of the violin and the depth of the organ within the sacred setting of the church.

"Regie Armonie Along the Via Francigena" is a widespread concert season involving six municipalities in the Susa Valley — Avigliana, Villar Dora, Sant'Ambrogio, Buttigliera Alta, Chiusa di San Michele, and Susa — transforming churches and art sites along the ancient pilgrim path into exceptional stages. The executive and artistic project is curated by the Associazione Itinerari in Musica in collaboration with the municipal administrations, with the aim of promoting the territory and local traditions through music.

A free event open to all

Admission to the concert is free. The initiative is sponsored by the Regional Council of Piedmont and the Unione Montana Valle di Susa, with the support of municipal administrations and cultural partners. It is a precious opportunity to discover a lesser-known corner of Piedmont by combining art, history, and music in a single evening.
