Seven hundred musicians and eighteen bands gathered at the foot of the castle for the centenary of the Fénis Philharmonic Society
The Raduno delle Bande Musicali Valdostane is the event that brings together the band ensembles of the entire Aosta Valley each year. In 2026, the 52nd edition will be held in Fénis, a municipality in the Province of Aosta famous for its extraordinary medieval castle, and it takes on a special significance: it coincides with the centenary of the Fénis Philharmonic Society, founded in 1926.
The event brings together eighteen musical ensembles and around seven hundred musicians from every corner of the region, from the Monte Rosa valleys to the Valdigne. Concerts are held in the green area Le Tsanti de Bouva and take place over the course of a week, building up to the grand final parade through the town's hamlets.
The Philharmonic's centenary is also celebrated with a dedicated exhibition on the society's hundred years, curated by local schoolchildren, and the composition of a piece commissioned for the occasion: Échos de Fénis. Une histoire intemporelle, by composer Luciano Feliciani, structured in three thematic movements dedicated to the town. The gathering is much more than a musical review: it is a moment of community identity that intertwines tradition, youth training, and a connection with the Aosta Valley territory.
The 52nd Raduno delle Bande Musicali Valdostane takes place in Fénis from May 31 to June 6, 2026, on the occasion of the centenary of the Fénis Philharmonic Society (founded in 1926). This is the fourth time the town has hosted the gathering. Eighteen ensembles and around seven hundred musicians from across the Aosta Valley perform in evening concerts at the Le Tsanti de Bouva green area, leading up to the grand traditional parade on June 6 through the town's hamlets. Completing the program are the exhibition on the Philharmonic's hundred years and the performance of the commissioned piece Échos de Fénis by Luciano Feliciani.
Fénis is located about 15 km from Aosta, reachable via the A5 motorway (Nus or Aosta Est exit). Concerts are held in the Le Tsanti de Bouva green area; the final parade crosses the town's hamlets.
Evening concerts generally start at 8:30 PM. The traditional parade on the final Saturday starts at 2:00 PM.
