The amateur theatre festival in Airasca, featuring comedy, mystery, and science fiction
Prima Vera Scena is an amateur theatre festival that, every spring, transforms the G. Brussino Multipurpose Hall in Airasca, a small town in the Province of Turin, into a local cultural hub for the Pinerolo area. Launched in 2025, the event is conceived and curated by Claudio Petronella and organized by Lucechevola Teatro and Socialmente APS, with the patronage of the Municipality of Airasca.
The wordplay in the titleโ"Prima Vera Scena" (meaning both "First True Scene" and "Spring Scene")โperfectly captures the festival's spirit: providing a space in spring for live theatre, especially amateur and community theatre that often remains on the fringes but is filled with passion, talent, and a desire to share. It is a stage open to companies from the Piedmont and Liguria regions, with a special focus on young and under-30 groups.
Each edition features four events, one per month from March to June, always on Saturday evenings at 9:00 PM. The program fearlessly mixes genres: from romantic comedy to mystery, and from "off-beat" theatre to dystopian science fiction, aiming to engage a broad and curious audience. The selection of scripts and companies changes from year to year, while maintaining a constant standard: the quality of the performances and the promotion of non-professional theatre.
More than just a season of shows, Prima Vera Scena is a community cultural project. Admission to all performances is free, a deliberate choice to make theatre accessible to all residents of Airasca and the surrounding towns. The festival weaves together the work of a social promotion association, Socialmente APS, and a theatre company, Lucechevola Teatro, creating an eagerly awaited appointment in the cultural life of the town and the entire Pinerolo area, in the heart of Piedmont.
The second edition of Prima Vera Scena confirms the winning formula of 2025: four shows, one per month from March to June, always on Saturdays at 9:00 PM at the G. Brussino Multipurpose Hall in Airasca. Curated by Claudio Petronella and organized by Lucechevola Teatro and Socialmente APS, the 2026 edition broadens the horizons of the program by opening up to dystopian science fiction and giving space to two young Turin-based under-30 companies. Admission to all events remains free.
All shows take place at the Salone Polifunzionale G. Brussino, Via Stazione 31, Airasca.
