Courtyards, gateways, and taverns in the historic heart of Isera, in the Vallagarina valley
Every summer, the historic center of Isera, a small town in the Vallagarina valley in the province of Trento, turns into a widespread stage for the Portoni Festival. For three days, the courtyards, patios, and evocative ancient gateways of the village open to the public, hosting improvised taverns, long tables, and music spots. It is a popular festival born from the community and for the community: it is, in fact, the local volunteer associations that manage the spaces and prepare the dishes served to guests.
The heart of the event is the network of gateways and courtyards in the historic center, which give the festival its name. Strolling through the village streets, you move from one courtyard to another, discovering different kitchens, meeting points, and lively corners. The culinary offerings highlight traditional Trentino cuisine and local produce, in a setting where the hospitality of village taverns is just as much a protagonist as the music.
The program alternates between musical moments and shows for all ages. Throughout the evenings, there are DJ sets, live concerts, and entertainment events, with offerings ranging from 1960s music to local bands. There is also plenty of space dedicated to children and families, with animation and shows designed for a younger audience.
The Portoni Festival also features local volunteer organizations, such as the Lucicate Onlus association, which offers handcrafted items whose proceeds support solidarity projects. The event thus combines the convivial and gastronomic dimension with social commitment, reflecting the image of a lively and engaged village.
Located on the hills of the Vallagarina valley, in Trentino-Alto Adige, Isera is known for its winemaking tradition and for Marzemino, the territory's signature wine. The Portoni Festival is one of the most cherished summer events in the village and an opportunity for visitors and tourists to discover the charm of the town, its history, and the warm welcome of its community.
The Portoni Festival 2026 in Isera takes place from August 4th to 6th in the historic center of the village, in the Vallagarina valley. For three days, courtyards and gateways host taverns and refreshment points managed by local associations, with traditional Trentino cuisine as the star.
The musical program features evenings with DJ sets and live shows, including a performance by Loredana Cont, an evening dedicated to 1960s music with Giuliano dei Notturni, and a concert by I Risentiti 3.0. There is also plenty of space for children, with animation and the show by Mago Polpetta.
The solidarity stall of the Lucicate Onlus association will also be present, offering handcrafted items to support charitable projects.
For all three evenings: taverns and gateways open with traditional dishes provided by Isera associations.
