The Gargano rally that ignites Vieste's autumn

The Porta del Gargano Rally — City of Vieste Trophy is the most important motorsport event on the Gargano promontory and a signature event for the Municipality of Vieste, in the province of Foggia, Apulia. Every autumn, the town overlooking the Adriatic transforms into the headquarters for a race that combines high-level competition, public entertainment, and the promotion of one of Southern Italy's most fascinating territories.

A route between sea and mountains

The uniqueness of the rally lies in its course: the special stages wind along the roads connecting Vieste, Peschici, Vico del Gargano, and Mattinata, crossing the Foresta Umbra and the scenic hairpin turns of the Gargano National Park. The landscape, suspended between the Adriatic coast and the wooded inland hills, makes every timed stage a unique spectacle, beloved by both drivers and the fans who line the route.

Valid for the ACI Rally Zone 8 Cup

The race is part of the national ACI Rally Cup calendar and serves as the final round of Zone 8, which includes Abruzzo, Molise, Lazio, Campania, Apulia, Basilicata, and Calabria. For this reason, the Porta del Gargano Rally often plays a decisive role in awarding zone titles, drawing crews from across Italy to Vieste in search of the final points up for grabs.

A deeply rooted local event

Organized by the A.S.D. Piloti Sipontini racing team, the event has grown edition after edition to become a benchmark for southern rallying. The Rally Village, set up on the Lungomare Europa, hosts technical inspections, the service park, and the start and finish ceremonies, involving the entire Vieste community. The event also helps de-seasonalize tourism in Vieste, bringing thousands of visitors to the city well outside the summer peak.

2026 Edition

The sixteenth edition, combined with the 6th City of Vieste Trophy, is scheduled for October 17 and 18, 2026. The planned route includes 9 special stages covering approximately 72 kilometers of timed racing across the promontory's municipalities. The entry list, detailed schedules, and maps of the special stages will be published by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the race.
