Pontedera becomes the city of children

For an entire afternoon, the historic center of Pontedera, in the province of Pisa, transforms into a large open-air laboratory entirely dedicated to the little ones. Pontedera Kids is the festival of games and entertainment that invades the squares, streets, and avenues of the center with a celebration of colors, sounds, and activities designed for children and families. A joyful takeover that, edition after edition, has become one of the most anticipated spring events in the Valdera area.

A sprawling playground in the heart of the city

The idea behind the event is simple and successful: to give the city center back to the children by creating a path of activities that winds through the main squares of Pontedera. The streets of the center are closed to traffic and populated by workshops, shows, entertainment, and games, in a festive atmosphere that involves the entire community. The event was also created with a concrete goal: to counter commercial decline and keep the city alive and frequented by encouraging families to experience the historic center.

Workshops, shows, and many surprises

The program is packed and spans various disciplines to stimulate children's curiosity and creativity:

• Chemistry workshop with spectacular experiments for the little ones to discover science while having fun
• Magic show with Magico Matteo, featuring illusions and surprising acts
• Dino show with life-sized animated dinosaurs
• Circus school to try your hand at juggling and balancing
• Recycling workshop and an area with bouncy castles in Piazza Belfiore, to learn about the environment and sustainability through play
• Quiz games and wooden games for challenges of logic and skill
• Music by the Miwa Cartoon Band, ready to get the audience singing along to rock versions of cartoon theme songs

A festival for the whole community

Organized by Confcommercio of the Province of Pisa with the patronage and contribution of the Municipality of Pontedera and the Chamber of Commerce of North-West Tuscany – Terre di Pisa, Pontedera Kids is much more than just an afternoon of games: it is a day when merchants, associations, and families come together to enliven the heart of the city. An event that reflects the welcoming spirit of Tuscany and the province of Pisa, where community traditions are renewed through initiatives dedicated to the new generations.
