The summer festival of Poggio Imperiale, featuring music, food fairs, and traditions of the Alto Tavoliere
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Poggio d'Estate is the summer festival that turns Poggio Imperiale—a town of just over two thousand inhabitants in the Alto Tavoliere, in the province of Foggia, Apulia—into a sprawling open-air stage. Organized by the Municipality of Poggio Imperiale with the support of local associations, committees, and businesses, the program typically runs from the second half of July through Ferragosto, when the town's squares and streets come alive every night with music, shows, and local flavors.
The strength of Poggio d'Estate lies in its variety: live concerts and tribute bands, theater and comedy shows, dance nights, music festivals, food and wine events, and moments dedicated to culture and literature all coexist in the same calendar. The slogan chosen by the administration, "a different emotion every night," perfectly captures the spirit of the event: a summer designed to ensure the town is never without a reason to gather.
The festival is deeply rooted in local identity. Alongside new additions each year, established events return to celebrate the community's memory, such as "A Cummnell", the patronal feasts, and food festivals that highlight the peasant cuisine of the Tavoliere. Poggio Imperiale, founded as an agricultural colony in the 18th century and linked to the Principi Imperiale family, maintains a strong sense of community that finds its greatest expression in this summer festival.
The Poggio d'Estate events are held primarily outdoors, in the squares and along the streets of the town center, and are free to attend. It is an ideal opportunity to discover an authentic village of the Capitanata, far from the major tourist circuits but close to the Gargano and the Apulian Adriatic coast.
The dates and program for the 2026 edition of Poggio d'Estate have not yet been announced. As every year, the Municipality of Poggio Imperiale will publish the full schedule during the summer. Based on previous editions, the festival is expected to take place between the second half of July and Ferragosto, featuring concerts, food and wine festivals, theatrical performances, and local traditional events. For updates, please refer to the official website poggiodestate.it and the Municipality's channels.
