Four evenings of signature jazz in the cloister of Palazzo Blu, along the Lungarno
The Pisa Jazz Rebirth at Palazzo Blu series is one of the most anticipated events of the Pisan musical summer. Every June, the refined cloister of Palazzo Blu—a historic building overlooking the Lungarno Gambacorti in the center of Pisa—transforms into an intimate stage to host the finest Italian and international jazz. The series is organized by the Pisa Jazz Association, a key institution for the promotion of jazz culture in the Municipality of Pisa and throughout Tuscany.
The concerts at Palazzo Blu serve as a prelude to the larger Pisa Jazz Rebirth festival, which brings an international lineup to the Giardino Scotto every July. The cloister series focuses on a more intimate dimension: four evenings ranging from the great American jazz tradition to explorations of Latin American and Brazilian sounds, as well as gypsy jazz and the voices of the new generation of instrumentalists.
Performing in the cloister of Palazzo Blu means blending music with art and history: the building houses one of the city's most important art collections and is located within Pisa's monumental fabric, just a short walk from the Arno and the city center streets. The evening atmosphere, with concerts starting after sunset, makes every event an evocative and close-knit experience between the audience and the musicians.
In recent years, the Palazzo Blu series has established itself as an integral part of the Pisa Jazz offering, doubling its side events and complementing the main festival with a series of high-quality concerts in the historic center. For jazz enthusiasts and those visiting Pisa in the summer, it is the ideal opportunity to discover a city that, beyond its famous Leaning Tower, offers a vibrant cultural and musical scene.
The Pisa Jazz at Palazzo Blu 2026 series takes place from June 18 to 28 with four concerts in the cloister of Palazzo Blu, in Pisa. The lineup alternates between the great American jazz tradition, Latin American and Brazilian influences, and new generations of instrumentalists, ahead of the main festival at Giardino Scotto scheduled for July. All concerts begin at 9:30 PM.
