About Pisa Jazz at Palazzo Blu

Pisa Jazz Rebirth at Palazzo Blu is a concert series that brings world-class international and Italian jazz to the enchanting cloister of Palazzo Blu, overlooking the Lungarno Gambacorti in Pisa, every June. Curated by the Pisa Jazz Association, these four evening events serve as a prelude to the main festival at Giardino Scotto, blending American tradition, Latin rhythms, and the next generation of musicians. An intimate setting to enjoy renowned soloists just steps from the Arno River.

Jazz in the heart of Pisa

The Pisa Jazz Rebirth at Palazzo Blu series is one of the most anticipated events of the Pisan musical summer. Every June, the refined cloister of Palazzo Blu—a historic building overlooking the Lungarno Gambacorti in the center of Pisa—transforms into an intimate stage to host the finest Italian and international jazz. The series is organized by the Pisa Jazz Association, a key institution for the promotion of jazz culture in the Municipality of Pisa and throughout Tuscany.

A program spanning the geography of jazz

The concerts at Palazzo Blu serve as a prelude to the larger Pisa Jazz Rebirth festival, which brings an international lineup to the Giardino Scotto every July. The cloister series focuses on a more intimate dimension: four evenings ranging from the great American jazz tradition to explorations of Latin American and Brazilian sounds, as well as gypsy jazz and the voices of the new generation of instrumentalists.

A special venue

Performing in the cloister of Palazzo Blu means blending music with art and history: the building houses one of the city's most important art collections and is located within Pisa's monumental fabric, just a short walk from the Arno and the city center streets. The evening atmosphere, with concerts starting after sunset, makes every event an evocative and close-knit experience between the audience and the musicians.

A growing tradition

In recent years, the Palazzo Blu series has established itself as an integral part of the Pisa Jazz offering, doubling its side events and complementing the main festival with a series of high-quality concerts in the historic center. For jazz enthusiasts and those visiting Pisa in the summer, it is the ideal opportunity to discover a city that, beyond its famous Leaning Tower, offers a vibrant cultural and musical scene.
