Craft beer festival in the mural village of Casoli di Atri
Pinta tra i Dipinti is a festival dedicated to craft beer held in Casoli di Atri, a small hamlet within the municipality of Atri, in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo. Every summer, the event draws thousands of visitors to the alleys of this hillside village, which is famous throughout the region as the "village of murals".
The unique charm of Casoli lies in its extraordinary open-air museum: since 1996, the CasoliPinta mural painting festival has invited artists from all over Italy to paint the facades of the historic center's houses, turning the village into a sprawling art gallery. Strolling among the murals with a pint in hand, amidst evocative views of the Teramo hills, is the experience that gives the festival its name and soul.
The heart of the event is the selection of over sixty craft beers offered by independent breweries from Abruzzo and beyond, with a range of styles from IPAs to blanches, and from porters to saisons. Accompanying the pints is local street food: porchetta, fried snacks, arrosticini, and traditional Abruzzese rustic desserts, with options available for vegetarians and those seeking gluten-free choices. Food stalls generally open in the early evening, around 7:30 PM.
Each evening is brought to life by live concerts, emerging bands, late-night DJ sets, art installations, and performances. Past editions have featured swing and jazz ensembles as well as special guests from the national radio scene. The atmosphere is completed by craft markets and activities designed for families and children, making the festival suitable for all ages.
Admission to Pinta tra i Dipinti is free: you only pay for what you consume. The event has become one of the most anticipated appointments of the Teramo summer, successfully combining the promotion of Casoli's artistic heritage with the vibrancy of a popular festival. Those visiting inland Abruzzo, including Atri, its famous Cathedral, and the Calanchi, will find in Casoli the perfect opportunity to discover an authentic village during one of its most festive evenings.
The 2026 edition of Pinta tra i Dipinti takes place from July 8 to 12, 2026 in Casoli di Atri, in the province of Teramo. Now in its 9th edition, the event confirms the formula that has led to its success: over seventy types of craft beer from independent breweries, framed by local gastronomic specialties and the village murals.
The program includes five evenings with live concerts, late-night DJ sets, interactive installations, and artistic performances, as well as markets and walks among the works of the "village of murals". Food stalls offer Abruzzese street food, from fried snacks to porchetta, with options for vegetarians and gluten-free diets.
Casoli is a hamlet of the municipality of Atri (TE), accessible by car from the A14 motorway exit of Atri-Pineto, then following provincial roads inland. The reference train station is Pineto-Atri, on the Adriatic line, from where you can continue by car or local transport.
Free admission. Food stalls and beer taps generally open in the early evening, around 7:30 PM, with music and DJ sets continuing until late at night.
The village is small and the streets are narrow: it is advisable to park in the designated areas at the entrance to the village and continue on foot to enjoy the murals along the way.
