Reggae, ethnic, and punk rock at Parco della Pace in Pineto
The Pinetnie Moderne Music Festival is one of the most iconic musical events on the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. Hosted at the Parco della Pace in Pineto, just a stone's throw from the sea and the famous Torre di Cerrano, the festival brings the town to life every August with free evening concerts. The event is organized by the Associazione Risvegli Sonori, with the patronage of the Municipality of Pineto and the Province of Teramo.
The festival was born in 2007 from the initiative of a small group of friends who wanted to breathe new life into the city through music. Since then, the event has grown edition after edition, while keeping its community spirit and core philosophy intact, as summarized by the organizers: music has no color, it belongs to everyone; it is about gathering, participation, and emotion. It is no coincidence that the festival is dedicated to the memory of several friends who passed away prematurely, who are considered the founding soul of the event.
The Pinetnie Moderne program weaves together genres that rarely share the same stage: reggae, ethnic music, punk rock, ska, dub, and socially conscious songwriting. Over the years, the Parco della Pace stage has hosted leading names from the Italian and international scenes, such as Alborosie & Shengen Clan, Sud Sound System, Punkreas, 99 Posse, Tonino Carotone, and Aprรจs La Classe.
Pinetnie Moderne is much more than just a series of concerts: it is a gathering place for the Pineto community and the many tourists who flock to the Teramo coast in the height of summer. Free admission, the green setting of the park near the beach, and the informal atmosphere make it an event suitable for all ages, capable of combining the festive soul of the Abruzzo summer with high-quality artistic performances.
Pineto owes its name to the pine forests that characterize its coastline, one of the most evocative stretches of the Abruzzo coast, awarded the Blue Flag. The festival is part of a rich summer calendar that the Municipality offers across Pineto, Scerne, Mutignano, and Borgo Santa Maria, helping to make the town one of the most vibrant destinations in the Province of Teramo.
The Pinetnie Moderne Music Festival 2026 returns to the Parco della Pace in Pineto (TE) from August 8th to 11th, 2026, for its eighteenth edition. As per tradition, the event organized by the Associazione Risvegli Sonori offers free admission evenings that blend reggae, ethnic music, punk rock, and socially conscious songwriting.
Among the names already announced for 2026 are Africa Unite, the historic Italian reggae band expected on Sunday, August 9th as part of their tour, and The Wailers, a world-renowned reggae band, listed as special guests for this edition. The complete program for the four nights will be revealed by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
