Thursday summer evenings in the heart of Falzes
The Pfolzna Pfinzta is one of the most beloved summer events in the municipality of Falzes/Pfalzen, located in the Puster Valley, in the province of Bolzano (South Tyrol). The name, in the local South Tyrolean dialect, simply means "Falzes Thursday": this is the day when the village center transforms into a large open-air lounge, complete with food stalls, long tables, and music.
The spirit of the festival is captured in its motto: rustic, original, and traditional. During the Pfolzna Pfinzta evenings, visitors can savor authentic South Tyrolean cuisine, prepared according to local recipes, accompanied by a good drink and the inevitable live musical entertainment. The atmosphere is typical of mountain village festivals: steaming pots, inviting aromas, chatter between neighbors and guests, and a great desire to be together.
The festival takes place in the center of Falzes, starting at 6:30 PM and continuing until approximately 11:00 PM. The evenings are spread throughout the summer, always on Thursdays, between the second half of July and August, offering residents and tourists several opportunities to participate during the season.
Falzes is located in a privileged position at the entrance to the Puster Valley, in the Plan de Corones (Kronplatz) holiday area, a renowned destination for summer hiking and winter skiing. Pfolzna Pfinzta is organized by the Bruneck Kronplatz Tourismus board and represents an authentic way to experience South Tyrolean folk traditions, immersed in the landscape of the Dolomites.
Whether you are on holiday at Plan de Corones or simply passing through the Puster Valley, Pfolzna Pfinzta is the ideal opportunity to savor the hospitality and conviviality of the heart of South Tyrol.
For the summer of 2026, the Pfolzna Pfinzta returns to the center of Falzes/Pfalzen with five Thursday evenings: July 16 and 23, then August 13, 20, and 27, 2026. Each evening takes place from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
As per tradition, the food stalls offer typical South Tyrolean dishes, accompanied by good live music and the festive atmosphere that characterizes the event. The festival is organized by Bruneck Kronplatz Tourismus in the Plan de Corones holiday area, in the Puster Valley.
Falzes/Pfalzen is located in the Puster Valley, a few kilometers from Brunico. By car, it can be reached via the SS49 Puster Valley road; the nearest train station is in Brunico, which is well-connected by the Puster Valley railway line, with bus connections to Falzes.
The evenings take place in the village center from approximately 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Admission to the festival area is free; food and drinks can be purchased at the stalls.
Bring clothing suitable for mountain evenings, which can be cool even in summer. For accommodation, the Plan de Corones area offers numerous facilities between Falzes, Brunico, and the surrounding villages.
