Peonie in Fiore: two days of color and fragrance in Carmagnola

Peonie in Fiore is the spring event that draws botany enthusiasts, photographers, and curious visitors every year to the Vivai delle Commande, located in the Tuninetti district of Carmagnola, in the province of Turin. For two days, the nursery opens its gates for free, transforming into a vast flower garden where guests can admire the simultaneous blooming of over four thousand peonies.

One of Italy's richest collections

The Vivai delle Commande have been cultivating the peony—the so-called Queen of Flowers—for over twenty years, building a collection of significant botanical value. During the event, visitors can observe numerous herbaceous, shrub, and intersectional peony varieties, as well as a collection of Hosta. Special attention is given to Itoh hybrids, with eighteen varieties that combine the characteristics of herbaceous and shrub peonies, resulting in spectacular, long-lasting blooms.

New features each season

Every edition introduces new cultivars, the result of the nurserymen's research and passion. Recent additions include the herbaceous peony Coral Fay, with its vibrant magenta flowers, and the international hybrid Court Jester, known for its unique features. The variety of shapes, shades, and scents makes every walk through the rows a unique experience, capable of surprising even the most seasoned visitors.
