The name plays on the meeting of two worlds: the "penne" (quills/pasta) of the goose and the "pinne" (fins) of the fish. Penne & Pinne is indeed a village festival dedicated to goose and cod, two typical dishes of Montegabbione's cuisine that tell the dual tradition, of land and sea, of this corner of Umbria at the table.
A festival in the village
The event takes place in Montegabbione, a village in the province of Terni nestled in the Umbrian countryside, halfway between Orvietano and Valdichiana. For several evenings, the village comes alive with food stalls, communal tables, music, and dancing, in a convivial atmosphere that is the authentic hallmark of Umbrian summer festivals.

Penne & Pinne is curated by the Pro Loco of Montegabbione (local tourism board), which offers evenings of Umbrian cuisine with goose as the star, and cod alongside it, accompanied by entertainment for all ages.
